Can't install Ubuntu 10.10 final on my PC

I've been a regular Ubuntu user since Gutsy Gibbon and I've always been an early upgrader. Somehow I've been really unlucky with Ubuntu 10.10. When I run the CD choose any of the three options offered by Grub, the system just waits for 20-30 seconds and gives me a screen with Green squares. I've been facing this issue since the beta, I made a post about it in the local Ubuntu India community but couldn't find any solution, the same issue existed in the RC version and today when I'm trying to install 10.10 final I am getting the same error.

Here's a video I made when 10.10 was in beta. The problem is still the same even in the final version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKiks45jMEU

I have a Pentium E2180 Dual Core 2.0Ghz PC with 4GB ram and an Nvidia GTS250 graphics card. I have Ubuntu 10.04 on it which installs and works fine. its only the 10.10 that I have this problem with.

Please suggest what should I do to get past this.

I wonder if you're effected by this bug:

Don't know what to expect. The bug report says the issue affects Nvidia cards prior to 6000 series. I have a newer 200 series card which should not be affected.
