Any last nuggets of wisdom before the upgrade?

Has anyone tried the beta yet? I'm stressing over the ext3 moving to ext4 thing. Would it be better for a neophyte like me to forgo the upgrade process and just do a clean install? When I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04, I ended up doing that because the upgrade crashed my old machine. Any other migration advice?

Image your drive with clonezilla, so you are only a few minutes away from a complete restore if it becomes necessary.

I would clean install, especially if moving to another file system
