Awesome, glad I saw the update. Saturday should prove a better turnout.

Right here is where stuff should be posted, even if it duplicates stuff in the Wiki and team site. Because this forum is kinda sorta the "gateway" from Ubuntu Forums to the team site and Wiki. If this forum is inactive, then it may appear to a newbie as though the Florida team is inactive.

Just an idea... the forum's right here, and folks who don't know about the other less accessible forums will look here first, coming from the Ubuntu forums.

Nice IRC meeting tonight by the way. Thanks!

I agree, FL LoCo seemed inactive when i first checked it a couple months ago. Might be better to keep it active just for active's sake...

I agree with you that this is and can be a valuable resource. I don't feel though, that this should be the primary area that everyone should spend most of their time.

I love using forums for troubleshooting, but I prefer IRC, and I am pretty confident that I'm not the only one that feels that way. I enjoy going through forum posts though and replying when people are looking for info. I would recommend to anyone that is really interested in utilizing the forums to Subscribe to the Florida Team - US forum, so that you can be made aware of all of the new posts and updates. I also would encourage anyone that reads this to chime in and help to continue to help and make people feel welcome upon receiving replies.

Deamos,

We have been a lot more active in other areas, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FloridaTeam/Projects/Completed shows some of the things that we have participated in. That is not a comprehensive list as many of us are active in events that have not made it to the projects page. I have had several issues with my ID for both the forums and launchpad and have finally gotten it straight so you will be seeing me pay better attention to the forums now that I am once again able to have one login for everything .

If you would like to see even more activity swing by the IRC, sometimes there are lulls but that is far and in between. Hope to talk with you soon! We are always on freenode #ubuntu-us-fl primarily, and a lot of us are in other channels as well.

Hey, this looks like fun. I think I wanna be there. It appears a location has not yet been determined?

Also, I followed a link to the nearest Linux Users Group just to see what a LUG is, and I still don't really know. Is anyone here a LUG member and what do they do?

Just curious,
Robin
Here are links to the two Linux users groups of Orlando:
