Discussions on religion and politics are not allowed, except for politics directly related to free and open source issues. Any topic or discussion that causes problems or drama will be closed. Mad March 2009 Screenshot Thread
(Blatantly plagarised from the previous month's screenshot thread)
March 2009 screenshot thread March 2009 Desktops - Posting Guidelines * Stay within the board rules, no matter how hot you may believe the wallpaper/screen shot to be. * If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc. * Off Topic Posts will be edited or removed. * The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post explicit or suggestive, and provocative images (they must be safe for your kids and/or boss to see). Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone. * The moderators of this forum reserve the right to edit or remove your posts as necessary so they may comply with our Community Rule set. * Please use reduced-size thumbnails, where possible, out of respect for people running on lower bandwidth or screen resolutions. * To avoid having users having to ask you for them. we request that you format your posts in the following order: Themes: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice). Wallpaper: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice). Icons: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice). Programs: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice). Important Note: Any image posted that is over 800 x 600 will be removed! Use a thumbnail or use a text link to your image. If your image is removed, this is why. Re: Mad March 2009 Screenshot Thread
And here's mine for today
OroboROX theme: Kymatix2 with noir scheme GTK theme: Nodoka Midnight Wallpaper: Remnants from zixpk.com Minor tweak: Swapped memo for simple clock. Put a symlink to memo in the autostart folder (hence the alarm clock in the systray) And once again, the attachments aren't working properly Last edited by Mark76; March 1st, 2009 at 06:27 AM.. |

![]() http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/2783/bgesml.jpg Really should get around to finishing that game. Just a shame that the PS2's version has such laggy controls.

Re: Mad March 2009 Screenshot Thread
DIY Thumbnails
Run scrot with the following argument. -t or --thumb NUM (where NUM is a percentage of the original size). I think something like 20 would be a good place to start for most screens. You can also use a -d or --delay set to whatever value you like if you want to minimise the terminal (assuming you're using a terminal) before the shot is taken. Upload both versions (full size and thumb) to your favourite image hosting site. In the reply options select Insert link and paste the direct link to your full sized screenshot in the dialog box. Then click on Insert Image and paste the direct link to your thumb in that dialog box (the Image link should be embedded inside the url link) Voila! A thumbnail that opens up the full sized image |
