Yeah.. I thought as much. Thanks again for the comfirmation of doom, though.

Re: HOWTO: functional eye-candy with Avant-Window-Navigator

Hello together,

hope my english is good enough to understand what i'm talking about

I've pulled the main panel (from top) to bottom, because i like it as more as on top. Now there is a problem with onTop / ofTop:

How can i tell the panel to stay in the back? or other way round, how can i tell the AWN to stay ontop if i click on the panel?

Greetings
MrM

this is not currently possible I'm afraid. AWN is not intended to be used on the same screen edge as a panel.

Re: HOWTO: functional eye-candy with Avant-Window-Navigator

Hi, thanks for making such a cool app! I have one issue, and that is it opens on the wrong display and I can't find an option to change this.

here are some of my specs, I'm not sure what's relevant:
ubuntu version: Hardy 8.04
video card: Nvidia (installed via Edgy)
window manager: Compiz

I am using twinview, and my second display is a TV (to my left). I need it to open on my Samsung (main screen) instead of the TV. Any help is appreciated, thanks again.

close AWN

open gconf-editor (alt+f2, enter gconf-editor)

navigate to apps->avant-window_navigator

enable force_monitor
set monitor_height to the height of your main monitor
set monitor_width to the COMBINED width of your monitors
set monitor_xoffset to the width of your TV monitor

start AWN, it should now be it the correct position

reacocard, you are a genius. I just finished doing this and was going to post the workaround in the thread but you beat me to it!

Thanks so much, have a great day!

Except for the top panel, you can just rightclick on it and 'delete' it.

I'm having this same problem, and been looking through many pages to see if a solution was posted but couldn't find one.
Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks for this great how to!
