    Cannot Configure Network Devices

    Preface: I am a complete newb to Linux (have background in MS and Mac)

    I cannot configure my network devices via the Configure button on the Devices tab of the Network Tool. I get the following message:
    The interface does not exist
    Check that it is correctly typed and that it is correctly supported by your system.
    Machine Info: eMachine M6810
    OS: Ubuntu 8.04
    Network Adapter eth0: VIA Ethernet (generic driver)
    Network Adapter eth1: Broadcom wireless (B43 driver)

    go to system->admin->network and try configuring from there

    Thanks. I did that, but I was hoping to have more options (or at least see what the options are) since the route you suggest does work, but has very basic settings. Is there maybe another GUI tool that is more indepth than the Network box?
