    [SOLVED] problem with hard disk drive

    am really concerned about my hard disk the led is flashing all the time, loud noise only when run Ubuntu 8.1, with XP everything is fine.
    i dont know how to fix or diagnose this.
    any help is appreciated

    It was due to Myhtubuntu, when I set my PC to no back end, no front end(cos it didnt work at first place) everything is going right.
