Urgent - Two Computers One Monitor

    Hi all,
So here's the deal. I have two computers, which will never be on at the same time. One has a DVI output, the other VGA. I recently bought an LCD monitor that has both VGA and DVI inputs. My question is, would it be safe to connect one computer to the DVI and the other to the VGA at the same time, as long as there is only one computer on at a time.
    Thanks for any help.

This virus requires Microsoft Windows 98 or higher.
If Windows sucked it would be good for something.

I think so you could also get a switch box for it so you don't have to worry though and share keyboards and mice too..

I can't think of any reason why it can't work, but then i'm not exactly a pro at this stuff. Best thing: Try it out and see.

Thanks for the reply. It wouldn't be that often that I did it, but I didn't want to unplug the VGA and DVI cables since they are difficult to remove. I don't mind unplugging mouse and keyboard.
    Thanks again

I use a belkin KVM 2 port switch so I can quickly switch between 2 PCs using the same keyboard, monitor and mouse with the big advantage that they can both be running at the same time (so no rebooting between the 2) and I don't need to touch any cables.

Works great and not very expensive.

I actually use the same one it works great unless you screw up your keyboard and the escape button doesn't work.

I have 2 PC's running all the time. One is MS Windows XP and other Ubuntu Linux. Both use the same mouse, keyboard, and LCD monitor via a KVM 2 port (KVM switch = keyboard-video-mouse switch) switch. Pressing the 'Scroll Lock' switches between the 2 PC's. It works wonderfully, for me.
