SMB: shares stop working (after reboot/logout?)

    Hello!

This is the weirdest thing I've seen in a while.

I'll create a share in SAMBA (by right-clicking the directory and selecting "share options") and initially connect to it from a vista client with no problems...

Then, (usually) after a reboot/log-out, the shares are no longer accessible.

AFAIK, the shares never show up in my smb.conf file... even when they are accessible by the windows client.

Attached is my current smb.conf file, and you will notice the absence of the shares in question. They are called "Videos" "Pictures" "Backups" and "Music". When browsing in nautilus and checking the right click menu described above, they seem to be shared.

As far as local permissions are concerned, my user owns the drive (and subsequently the directories) on which these shares are located.

What gives? Thanks in advance. I am more than willing to uninstall Samba and reinstall it if that gives me (or whomever is helping) a blank slate to work with!

    SMB.CONF

Re: SMB: shares stop working (after reboot/logout?)

Just an update: Here is the error message I am getting from Vista:

"The mapped netowrk drive could not be created because the following error has occurred:

The specified server cannot perform the requested operation"

    ... anybody?
