I use a Benq Joybook R55U laptop, and everything was fine and dandy with Gutsy. To turn on the wireless card, you press a button on above the keyboard; a little green LED on the bottom right corner of the laptop would also light up indicating a connection.

However, Hardy Heron changed all this. The light no longer comes on, which makes it difficult to tell whether or not the wireless is connected. The only way to determine this is opening up a web browser.

Today, I rebooted the machine and simply cannot connect to the internet. My network settings are fine, and the wireless card is detected. I know the service is reachable, since I'm typing this now. But I can't figure out if it's just something wrong with the wireless switch or something entirely different.

My question is: How do I get the LED to light up again?
