Getting the wirelesss to work on my macbook

Totally new at this stuff
i'm now dual booting ubuntu and leopard
everything seems to be working fine except no internet (kind of a huge problem)
in network preferences in can only choose wired and modem connections, not wireless

help please!

What type of wifi card does your computer have?

(To find out: Boot into OS X, click apple on top left of screen, about this mac, click more info.
In the new window click down to Airport Card and copy the first three lines into your post.)

Also are you using 32 or 64 bit ubuntu?

I have the same problem. I tried following this wiki article to install the madwifi drivers, however neither method seems to work. I'm able to build and load the kernel driver modules, but I don't see any wireless interface named ath0.

I'm using 8.04 x86_64.

that article is for the MacbookPro which has a different card than the Macbook.
You need to determine your hadware version and follow the appropriate guide.

Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x8
Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (4.170.46.5)

and i'm using 64 bit ubuntu
