How to install 7.10 with new Wubi

    Hi guys,

I tried 8.04 and did not like it very much due to it's functionality. I wish to use Wubi to go back to 7.10, is this possible?

I have the LiveCD for 7.10 and thats it...

Wubi 7.10 is not recommend. I would suggest sticking to 8.04. It is quite likely that you can change the default behavior to get closer to your expectation.

Going with 8.04 isn't an option for all of us. For example, I can't use it because of this issue:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/218256

Is these a stable / reliable version before 8.04? There are many wubi versions listed here:

Can some recommend any available options for installing 7.10 or 7.04? Many thanks.

I would recommend 7.04 if 8.04 cannot be used. Note that 7.04 cannot be upgraded to 7.10.

Thanks for your help, I started the install using the latest 7.04 version of wubi. Hopefully, the b43legacy issue will get solved so I can upgrade later on.

Wubi 7.04 worked for me without a hitch. I am really loving this project. For the longest time I have wanted to try Ubuntu on my laptop but didn't want to bother/risk using partition magic.

Thanks for such a great project.
