    [SOLVED] virtualbox shares

I am trying to debug why my shared folders aren't so my first step is to find out if Guest Additions is installed.
To install I clicked on device/install guest additions and waited while the cdrom icon was active. The rebooted the virtual xp and restarted virtualbox.
How would I check if this installed the guest additions?
If it wasn't the correct way what is?
Thanks to any one who replies.

For info, winxp does not always use the auto play thingy on the disc. This means when you click on 'install guest additions' the little icon at hte bottom for the cd will show activity then nothing will happen.
To install the additions click on the 'install guest additions' ,wait for cd activity to stop, then if you don't have a prompt come up go to the cdrom drive in mycomputer of the virtual os and right click on it to open it then click on the install program.
This is a winxp problem not one with VB or Ubuntu.
