    mplayer2 with vaapi support?

    Hi,

Installed mplayer-vaapi from ppa following instructions here. http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/insta...-hardware.html. It works beautifully on my laptop with an AMD card (actually works as good as vadpau on my Nvidia machine) I am wondering if it is possible to compile mplayer2 with vaapi support and if possible is there any good tutorial.

    Thanks.

You're probably better off using xbmc:

Seems that mplayer2 doesn't support vaapi at the moment (it is one of the most requested features)

Is there any good tutorial/instruction for compiling mplayer-vaapi? Thanks.

Interesting request on the main MPlayer page:

    Code:
We would like to get MPlayer-VAAPI merged and need some developers to review
and fix up the codebase. Advanced help would be appreciated, please
coordinate on mplayer-dev-eng mailing list for more information.

I hope so too, although I have a fast CPU as well as NVidia card with good vdpau support
