    Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

Thanks for the guide. First I was trying it on Ubuntu 12.10 without success. System hangs on boot. The second approach I've made on Ubuntu 10.4. I've used Catalyst 12.10 downloaded from AMD site and it is working.
My laptop is Dell Vostro 3560.
I'm abble to switch VGA and both of them are OK. But my laptop even on integrated Intel continues to hot and fan is noisy.

    Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

    No joy again

though thanks to MarcoDePollo for his help trying.

13.04 Kubuntu , Additional drivers or AMDs downloaded and installed or sudo apt-get install fglrx - All result in CCC saying no drivers present and a 2D screen.

At least with Kubuntu I can still get into a 2D Desktop - better than black screen of Death but still not good enough to use.

Any NEW tips are VERY WELCOME !!

I used this solution for my Ubuntu 12.10:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get purge fglrx*
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:andrikos/ppa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get -y upgrade
    sudo apt-get --reinstall install xserver-xorg-video-intel
    sudo apt-get -y install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates
    sudo aticonfig --initial -f

    Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

AMD released Catalyst 13.1 today, with (finally) full support for X.org 1.13 and fixes for PowerXPress.
Also, in the release notes, the only Ubuntu version marked as supported is 12.10.

    Download is right here!

I'd suggest trying it with a fresh install without Nick Andriks PPA first.
Since I got rid of my HP ProBook 4730s (HD3000 + 6470M) laptop exactly because of the problems
with switchable graphics, I won't be able to test it myself.

I tested it and it didn't work for me. There's some segfault inside the driver somewhere...

    Getting a similar issues

13.1 works fine, and the switchable graphics options are in the AMD CCC. But switching to the iGPU crashes the X server for me.
