come back to computer being in 'live session'

    Hi,

Problem: Computer by itself went into live session, nothing I did I think contributed to the problem as I was away having dinner.

    I'm running 12.10 on a dell studio 1555

Any other info that can help ask. I'm currently downloading lubuntu 12.04, but in the mean time I'd like to see if I can fix this issue.

Have you left the CD in?

No, SlugSlug. There isn't/wasn't a CD in the drive.

As far as am aware the only way to get to a live session is to boot from CD or USB

And that's all it took, thanks SlugSlug. I'm not sure why it initially went into live session, considering I was already logged in normally. But after you said that I restarted with my external unplugged and found that it was booting from the partition I have on that. Which I'll now be changing so it can't do so in the future.. lesson learned, thank you again!
