PHOENIX BIOS compatible with Kubuntu..??
Hello Team:
TOSHIBA SATELLITE P35-S609 W/Phoenix BIOS. Will Ubuntu recognize all the Notebook "FN" Keys and power saving features + Atheros Wireless..?? In the past I installed Fedora Core 3 and lot of the stuff never worked (trackpad), then switch to SuSE 10.0 and after turning ACPI off everything worked like a charm, but the built-in wireless and power schemes (ACPI?) never worked and machine started to overheat and after a month went back to WindozeXP Home Ed. Now the only way to run my Linux LiveCD/DVD distros (Knoppix)is under VMWare but will like to switch completly to Linux/Kubuntu because VMware only recognizes the VGA card as "Generic VGA" Any advise...?? Thank you. |

Re: PHOENIX BIOS compatible with Kubuntu..??
Sorry I can't help directly with a laptop, but I have Phoenix bios on my emachines desktop and all is fine. http://www.linux-laptop.net/ Doesn't have your model listed. Try downloading the live ISO of dapper. Can't hurt to try.
