Cool bt5r3 advice for new user

hello all, i've recently installed 12.04 on my asus laptop, im interested in using bt5r3, however since i had to unpack the kernel for 12.04 on my asus, in order for the HW on my machine to be recognised as a wireless device, would i have to do the same for bt5r3? if anyone could aide and assist me, that would be great.. thanks in advance..

    Re: dapper drake

hello all, back from all the running around in the world, the good news is, i didnt save 15% on my car insurance with geico, but rather i purchased another laptop, asus i5 6GB RAM 720 HDD and installed 12.04 on it.. took a while since i bought a wireless plan, and had to unpack the kernel in order for the HW to be recognised as a wireless device, im having all the fun in the world, but now im over 50% usage on my plan already lol, im intereseted in bt5r3, as an OS, because at some point in my life thats what i would like to do as a career, my only concerns would be, would i have to do the same kernel unpacking process after installation? And yes, im very interested in bt5r3 for the right reasons that have nothing to do with being a certain color hat, im very much on the lighter side of things, and im just looking to up my education.. thanks in advance..

I would say it would be even more difficult to get your hardware recognised on BackTrack.

BackTrack is based on Ubuntu 10.04 which has support for less hardware (especially modern) than 12.04. Your probably better off asking this question on the BackTrack forums.
