    another instance of my desktop in VertBox but?

    Well as the title says, I am trying to install ubuntu 12.04 lts 64bit in virtual box, but for some reason it's not bring up a gui, I pointed it to where it would use the iso; install from there, but only get a shell prompt, an did the help but not really helpful!! Any ideas? An thanks ahead of time!...

    What is your host operating system and which version of VirtualBox are you using? If I understand you right, the Ubuntu installer is not starting in graphical mode. How is the VM configured and did you verify the checksum of the downloaded iso file?
