failed to load session "ubuntu-2d"
After installing Kindle until crossover, I lost the icon pane. PC ran fine all day, when I rebooted I got: failed to load session "ubuntu-2d"
Recovery mode does not work. I am still waiting for my SATA DVD to be delivered so I cannot use the Boot-repair disk (unless there are instructions to make bootable thimb drive.

Re: failed to load session "ubuntu-2d"
I feel like the guy who takes his new car to the dealer with a problem only to have the problem go away by the time he gets to the dealer. After several failed login attempts, I ran memtest (PC had brand new mememory), and when I came back, there were no errors and when I exited, PC rebooted; and all of a sudden the problem had gone away. I then got downloaded UNetbootin and made a bootable thumbdrive using Yannubuntu's disk boot repair iso image. Making the bootable thumbdrive was far easier than expected.
