    Dell Inspiron 1525 Overheating

My Dell laptop is overheating and Google does not give clear answers

When I watch videos or there are multiple programs running, the laptop gets hotter until it shuts down. This problem did not occur on 8.04 (32 bit), it did on 10.04 (32 bit) and now with 11.10 (64 bit).

    What I tried so far:

    1. The BIOS is up to date.
    2. Some people talk about graphics driver issues in relation to overheating, but no clear answers. The Graphics card is: Intel GM965/GL960.
    3. The fans don't start working until the laptop is already hot.

I don't know what else to try or what to search for anymore. Can someone please help me?

I have the exact same problem listed here. I'm still running 11.10, because I updated to 12.04 and had tons of problems with it. I have the same graphics card and have tried all these things and my laptop still overheats and shuts off randomly. Is there a fix for it yet?

Try Jupiter. Works for me on Inspiron 1545.
