    Gnome intefering with xfce screensaver

2 day old xfce 4.8 install, 12.04 lts with gnome classic also installed. Gnome 3 was installed but I yanked it.

Overall I like it ... it's fast, and I can configure it much more than unity or gnome classic.

My main video program is set to disable screensaver but it doesn't.

xfce says there's a gnome screensaver daimon running which is interfering and offers to disable it. That didn't work.

    Any suggestions?

Have a look at caffeine. More information here: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/05/2-way...y-disable.html.

Okay ... just installed caffeine. I'll try it later. Thanks.

Tried it last night ... definitely seems to work. Thanks.

I think I'll be sticking with xfce ...
