    Question cairo dock queries?

    Hi,

Installed cairo dock with Open GL from softwares center.

    I have a some queries:

    1. How can one remove the default launcher on the left side?

    2. When I reboot the bottom dock has to be launched from the side panel?

    3. Can I add Dash Home to the bottom dock?

    4. How can I remove the default top border?

    5. How does one configure & add sub dock, launcher, main dock & it's importance?

    6. Most stable theme for it?
    Genuine Intel® CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz × 2, Ram 2 GiB, Sony Vaio Resolution 1680x1050.
    Intel® 945GM x86/MMX/SSE2
    Broadcom 802.11b/g

    1. You can't. Cairo Dock does have its own session that does not have the Unity Launcher in the left side (you can choose to keep the Uity Panel, the panel in the top). Log out and chose from the Cairo Dock sessions.

    2. You need to add it to the startup applications, or if you're using the Cairo Dock session, you don't need to.

    3. No.

    4. Which border?

    5. Right click on the dock. The options should be obvious.

    6. They're just themes. I don't see any stability issues being involved.

    Question Re: cairo dock queries?

    Thanks for your reply.

This is how my desktop look like.

    1. Can the show desktop shortcut near the left lower corner be removed?

    2. Can I have more launchers like the one at the bottom, on the top, right & left?

Like what I said, right click on the dock. I have to log out now so I can't give specific instructions, but the add new dock option should be there, along with an advanced config tool that allows you to add/remove applets (such as the desktop switcher)

    Re: cairo dock queries?

Cairo Dock does have a Gnome based stand alone session which I have tried and decided wasn't for me. Unity is getting more features with each release that the docks simply don't have. It's a matter of preference. You other questions were addressed by zombifier25.

Not wholly correct. The Unity interface is a Compiz plugin that can be disabled with CCSM. (Of course, this would also disable the top panel and the dash, as well.)
    Jane, stop this crazy thing!
