GRUB 2.0 vs GRUB 1.99 - Long Entries

Yeah that is one of my gripes about the new grub,
but you can highlight any entry and hit 'e' and the "set root=" entry there
will show where the installation is.

Not a big deal for the average user who has only 1-2 installations.
And for people who have many multiple installations, it is just an extra step.
We have already complicated things for ourselves, so not a biggie.

Yes, I'm aware of that of course
And I agree with your point too


So, bottom line:
1- Is there away so far to tell without the extra step in case someone else is too lazy to do that?
2- Is there any way for GRUB 1.99 to have normal entries?
