    Preferred Access Point MAC Address?

Is there some way to set up a preferred AP MAC address?

You maybe wondering why I want to do this. Well I have 2 APs with the same SSID. For some reason Ubuntu keeps randomly switching between them. However, one AP has a weak signal (1 bar signal), and the other a strong one (almost full signal).

    I'm using an up-to-date version of Ubuntu 12.04 x64.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Congratulations. You are no longer an absolute beginner. If you don't receive a reply here, try posting this question on the 'networking and wireless' thread.

LOL, thanks I'll do that. Although when I venture out into the other sections I still feel very much like a beginner

edit: Found this and it looks like what I need. I'll report back with results:

    edit2: It didn't work
