    12.04 Installation Problems

    http://i.imgur.com/cAtwW.jpg

Hello, I am trying to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 with Windows 7. The installer will only let me try to install on /dev/sdb which is my 32 gb caching ssd. I have partitioned space for Ubuntu with Gparted.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums.

Often the caching SSD is a RAID device and that confuses the installer. But then you may have to break the RAID or stop using caching in Windows. AS configured the cache will not be used in Ubuntu.

Thank you for the links and information. I will try out disabling the SRT and installing.

    Re: 12.04 Installation Problems

Thank you for the help. I was able to install Ubuntu after disabling the Intel Smart Technologies.
