    Picasa

Anyone know if there's any possibility that Ubuntu will get Picasa again?

    No idea, sorry!

But this page might be useful for installing the latest version.

Myself, I use Gthumb. Seems to do everything Picasa ever did for me.

I looked at those Picasa installation instructions and got scared off. Rube Goldberg would be proud.

I think I'll try following in your footsteps with Gthumb. Thanks again.

Very doubtful, since Google's dropped support for it. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/04/g...casa-for-linux

I just install the Windows version in .wine after installing wine & winetricks from the repository.

Older similar which I originally used:

    http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/09/p...x-install.html
But I never installed Picasa 3.0

So I see. I found a site for voting for Picasa features and added my $.02: http://picasawebwishlist.uservoice.c...casa-for-linux.

    Re: Picasa

Sorry to barge in, installing Picasa for my gf was on in my .plan for some time.
Most recent HOWTO's advise on installing IE6 to be able to log in.
    So, of course:

    Code:
    $ winetricks ie6
    Executing w_do_call ie6
    Executing load_ie6
    ------------------------------------------------------
This package does not work on a 64-bit installation
