    Root/admin password

Just installed Ubunta. Trying to install driver for lexmark z23. downloaded a file and clicked on it. got a nice graphic then a dialog box asking me for administrator password. Typed my password, only one thats been enter ed on the system, and just get' wrong password try again' loop. Try running it sugo from terminal but bash won't run it. Also colours to green in ls. eventually tried password of admin and now it been running for twenty mins without moving progress bar.

    Any clues?

What is the name of the file you downloaded and what command did you use when you tried to run it?

    Hi,
    File name was
    lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.zip
I unzipped it with archive manager to my downloads then just clicked on it.

Did you try the "run in terminal" option from the double click?
