CD drive fails to detect media
I have Ubuntu version 11.04 (Natty) installed on my ASUS laptop. The laptop itself is about 4 years old.
I'm running into a problem where my system fails to recognize the media on burned CDs I've entered into the drive. It's clear that the machine recognizes that a disc has been inserted because it starts making the noises the drive normally makes when reading a CD, it just doesn't actually detect anything.
When I go to the disc utility settings to manually check on it, the utility says "no media detected."
The CDs have .iso files burned onto them, but I don't think that should be the issue since it isn't even detecting the CD at all.
My CD drive model is TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633A
The firmware version is AS00
And it's entered in SATA Host Adaptor port 2
If anyone has had this same issue and I just failed to see the post please let me know and I'll take this down. Otherwise, any help would be appreciated.
