How to control Shotwell's starting
How do I set shotwell NOT to start when I insert a disk or SD card or Flash drive with pictures on it? I still want to be able to run it, but when I want to, not when the programmers decide I need to.

Depends on the version of Ubuntu you're running. If you're on Precise, the setting is in System Settings -> Details -> Removable Media.

11.10, but you nailed it. Thanks.

Re: How to control Shotwell's starting
Shotwell seems to muscle in even when I select "open folder" from System Settings -> Details -> Removable Media. I find this most annoying. Only "ask what to do" seems to stop this unwelcome intrusion.
