    11.10 Flacon?

    Hello all,

When I used 10.10 a splendid tool called flacon was available, which automatically renamed .flac files by using information from a .cue file. I am now using 11.10 and it is not in the repositories.

The page which lists the ppa's for flacon is here:
    https://launchpad.net/~flacon/+archive/ppa

Unfortunately there is no 11.10 ppa listed. I tried using the 11.04 ppa, but to no avail. I suppose I should wait for a 11.10 ppa to become available to be able to use flacon in 11.10?

I tried using cuetools as described on http://www.webupd8.org/2009/04/split...buntu-and.html to rename the .flac files but it does not quite work. The problem is probably in the .cue file. Although it is a .flac file the .cue file contains the word 'WAVE'. I figured that could be the problem and tried replacing it which 'FLAC' but cuetools generated an error (haven't got a clue if it could work, it just seemed a likely cause for trouble):

    Code:
    $cuetag tlw.cue split-track*.flac ;
    8: syntax error
8: no file specified for track
12: no file specified for track
16: no file specified for track
20: no file specified for track
24: no file specified for track
28: no file specified for track
32: no file specified for track
36: no file specified for track
40: no file specified for track
44: no file specified for track
48: no file specified for track
52: no file specified for track
56: no file specified for track
60: no file specified for track
I read that cuetools does not play well with .cue files that contain spaces in the file name, so I took care of that.

    Thank you for reading.

    Splendid! Thank you.

I resorted to Foobar2000 (using Windows XP) in the end, but I am glad this Linux alternative is available.
