ubuntuone-syncdaemon eating HUGE amounts of memory

    Hi all,

Does anybody know what's wrong with Ubuntu One???

I was on 11.10 before and I noticed ubuntuone-syncdaemon taking over 1.3 GB of system memory while syncing. After upgrading to the public 12.04 beta, I see the process using even more. A whopping 2.5 GB is now being used during a sync that seems to last for hours... And I've not even mentioned the high CPU usage during it all.

I thought Dropbox and Spideroak where hogs but this is simply unacceptable for any cloud storage software.

Anything that can be done about this? Is this normal or should I start fresh somehow?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

UPDATE: it's now at 2.7 GB and still rising. If I open de U1 admin panel, I get errors saying "IPCError" and stating the app will have to be closed.

There seems to be something very wrong here

Agreed. Same problem here. Just tried to enable U1 on a new system (Asus UX31E/12.04). Took me several minutes to get a responsive notebook back, had to kill ubuntuone-syncd the hard way.
It's not usable in the current state, if you ask me.
