Hi! I was fighting with this problem all day last Sunday on my Lenovo z570. I tried literally every solution, but nothing permanently fixed it until I tried the following:
1. Unplug from your ethernet cable, if you're connected directly to your router.
2. Plug the power adapter into your computer and boot up (if you aren't already). You don't need to log into a session.
3. With your computer entirely booted up, close the lid. You can allow it to suspend.
4. Take out the battery with the computer still plugged in.
5. Unplug the power supply, then quickly open the lid and press (and hold!) the power button. Don't release it for at least 30 seconds.
6. Release the power button after 30 or more seconds.
7. Replace the battery.
8. Open the lid and plug back into the power adapter.
9. Press the power button on your laptop, and as soon as you get the option to go into BIOS (usually by pressing F2), do so.
10. In BIOS, select the "restore all defaults" option. Save and exit.
The laptop will finish booting, and your wireless should be available.
