    features of ubuntu with the existing microsoft windows

    hi,

    Can someone explain to me the interoperability features of ubuntu with the existing microsoft windows workstations?

    That's a pretty vague question, can you be more specific?

    In general an Ubuntu machine can open most files created on a Windows machine and will communicate with them over a network, but won't run the same software.

    Ubuntu can read/write NTFS filesystems -- the one used by recent Windows versions.

    Using Wine, and its variants, it can run SOME MS Windows apps, but they have to be reinstalled in the Ubuntu partition, they can't be run from windows.

    That's about it.
    Ubuntu 15.04 Mate, Mint 17.1; MS Win 8.1, Win10 TP.

    I want to know the features that ubuntu has when working together with windows?
