Typing extremely laggy in VirtualBox full screen, but normal in window

Hi all,

Today I installed Virtualbox 4.1.12r77245 on my Fujitsu AH531 laptop.

Host O/S: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit version.
Guest O/S: Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin 64bit.

I've got 2gb of memory dedicated to my virtual world, along with 20gb size drive.

What's odd is that if I run this at Full Screen mode text appears at a glacial pace, over 20 seconds after I hit a key stroke. However, if I window the virtual world, even if the window is darn near full screen, typing works just fine.

Anyone else experience this issue? Any ideas on how to resolve it?

I'm not opposed to running in Windowed mode since the only real reason I installed it was to cure a problem I had with FamilySearch Indexing software, which was having all sort of display issues in W7, but worked in Ubuntu (go figure!!).

I'm having exactly the same issue on a Dell XPS 15z, also running Windows 7 Home Premium and 12.04 Ubuntu.

I'm using Virtualbox 4.1.14 r77440

Needless to say, this makes fullscreen mode unusable.

I just ended up using it in Window mode, with a window that's the entire size of my monitor. Effectively, it's the same as fully screen mode, except for the bar at the top.

Sorry that this doesn't actually help you but I'm running 12.04 within VB on my Windows 7 64Bit Home Edition and it runs just fine in full screen mode (1920x1080). I'm using an Alienware X51.

At least you know that it can be done
