No Wireless On Boot D-Link USB Receiver

    Hello all,

I have a D-link USB wireless receiver that generally works well on my Ubuntu 11.10 installation. Last night, though it ceased to stop being able to connect to my wireless network on boot.

The wireless icon was showing in the task bar, my networks were showing up but on trying to connect it would attempt to and then show the notification that I was offline.

I tried deleting the connection under "Edit connections..." and adding it back manually several times with no avail. I even tried unplugging the dongle a couple times. The only thing that seemed to work was rebooting and I had to do this several times.

I saw some posts about doing ifconfig down/up etc. and that didn't work either.

Any ideas as to what can cause this and some solutions to try if it happens again?

    Thanks in advance.

I found the solution and documented it on my blog. Here's the link: http://brainstep.blogspot.com/2012/0...reless-on.html
