I think Windows just made the choice for me...

So every few days or so I decide to go ahead and do something on my Windows 7 Installation, I started up the PC, choose Windows 7 from GRUB and was presented with the Windows Failed to Start message. no luck using last known working configuration, or safe mode. I tried the usual Windows 7 Recovery stuff from the installation DVD, bootrec /rebuildbcd and all that other good/desperate Windows stuff with no luck, my Xubuntu Installation is still working just fine though so I decided to remove the Windows partition and go with Ubuntu only, we'll see how it goes.

The only reason why I kept using Windows in the first place was for games but honestly between work, my kids, and school I have no time for games any way

Has anyone else ever had Windows go ahead and make the decision to go Linux only for them like mine did?

Yup, my expience was pretty similar to your's. I attempted to dual boot, but mucked up Windows from booting when i deleted a partition. I got Windows back up, dual booted for about two days, and finally just wiped Windows completely. I haven't looked back. In fact, I've switched other computers to Linux as soon as Windows proves to be the least bit stable or starts to frustrate me.

Win7 is OK but, since vista, win 7 doesn't play as nicely on a dual boot system for whatever reason. If you don't need it for anything, why not dump it? I still use it on my primary rig for games and MS Office.

It seems that there may finally be a solution to Kodak not supporting Linux for their printers. As soon as I get the printer working, it's goodbye to WinXP. I only have it around in VirtualBox for printing.

The last dual boot of Windows and Linux I used was Vista. It played nice with Linux. In the end I deleted the Windows partition though. I too found out that I just never ever logged into Windows...so why bother keeping it around. But I'm not a gamer.
