    Can't change the battery icon?

I'm using a compiled icon set for my 11.10

However I can't seem to change the battery icon at the top:

I think I found out the location of the battery icons (located in scalable of gnome) however it says I can't change them since I'm not the owner. I really don't like how bulky the icon is so is there a way to change it?

bump. i think the only way to change it is to have full ownership, i read somewhere that you are purposely not given this initially. do i have to enable it or is there another way to change the icon?

You really don't need to go changing ownership of files. Pretty much ever.

Make or choose an icon in your new icon theme's directory structure with the same name as the icon that's being picked up at the moment and reload the theme.

There's information about how it all works on FreeDesktop.org, Gnome.org and other places if you're interested.
