make touchpad work with 800 x 600 resolution eeepc 701
I installed Jupiter on my good old eeepc 701 (ubuntu 11.10 on a 16 GB SD card). It fixed the problem where the system was misreading the battery and shutting down when I still has plenty of juice.
Fine and dandy, but then I saw Jupiter would let me set the display resolution to 800 x 600 instead of the normal 800 X 480. That seems to work fine except that the cursor will NOT move past a certain point at the bottom of the screen ( I assume it's 480 pixels from the top. That's what it looks like)
Just wonder where that limit might be set an if it could be set to 600?

I don't know if you will find the answer but you may want to check the Fuduntu forum....it has section referencing Jupiter....'Tips & Tricks'
My 701 does exactly the same thing as yours but I think the 800X480 is the optimal configuration
