Acer TimelineX 5830TG Thread

Hello 5830TG owners! I started this thread earlier but put it in the wrong section. Someone was kind enough to direct me here to the appropriate place.

First order of business, anybody experiencing issues with battery life? I barely get 2.5 hours out of a laptop claiming it can do 8. Running windows gives me 6 hours on average.

EDIT: OK, I find a tweak on the phoronix website (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...15_power&num=1) a few days ago, and have been running through some cycles to see how long my battery now lasts. I'm happy to report that I am getting the 8 hours claimed. I've ran the laptop through 3 cycles from fully charged til it died. On average, I'm getting close to 7.5 hours of battery (no wifi, and 50% brightness).

I decided to return to windows because of this reason, no replaceable battery and low time severely affects the lifetime of the laptop.

This maybe the trick that is needed!!!
