    Touchpad has stopped working COMPLETELY

I use my Acer Aspire One D255 every day and I have had Ubuntu 10.10 running for about a month now with no major issues...until last night.

I went to turn on my netbook and I tried using the touchpad to click on the password box and it did not work. I was able to login without the touchpad working but once I got logged in the touchpad still remained inactive. The two buttons dont work and the cursor does not move.

I did a search of the forums and one person said they used the following commands to get his touchpad working but I dont know if they would work for me.

    sudo modprobe -r psmouse
    sudo modprobe se proto=imps

Should I try using them or is that not going to help my problem?

Found out my problem...when I turned off my screen 2 nights ago I accidentally hit Fn+F7 instead of F6... never use that shortcut so now I know.

Brilliant! Fn F7 restored my touchpad too. Wonderful forum. Thanks
