Upgrade from 11.10 alpha 3 to beta 1

I recently upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 alpha 3, for which I used update manager. I now want to upgrade to 11.10 beta 1, however the option does not appear in the update manager. Is there a way to upgrade without reinstalling?

Simply make sure you are up-to-date and you are running the Beta.

By the way, take care when using Update Manager in a pre-release version. If it offers you a partial upgrade it can break your system. See:

Use the dist-upgrade subcommand of your package manager instead of safe-upgrade. That is what I had to do to go from alpha-3 to beta.
