Problem with changing display in Ubuntu

    Hi,

I have the same problem!but with Ubuntu 11.04 (Ubuntu classic desktop, not Unity) And I haven't been able to fix it It happens both ways to me, sometimes it's when I try to change from the laptop to the monitor and sometimes is when I'm going back to the laptop. The only Thing I can do when it's like that is pressing ctrl+alt+F1 and then turn off the laptop using "sudo halt" command, because if I restart the PC it won't boot back, just keeps restarting itself until I get tired and turn it off for a few minutes...

Hi and I have moved your post to it's own thread. No need to revive a 2 year old thread.
