So I'm running ubuntu 11.04 through vmware fusion and I am sharing the network connection through NAT, which seems to work, but doesn't give me a standard 192.168.1.*** ip behind the router. Instead it gives me an ip like 192.168.5.127. Sometimes the ip is even funkier...

Anyway, as a result I can't ssh into virtual ubuntu machine (nor can I use it as a synergy host). It seems that a bridged connection gives a regular ip address and then I can ssh into the virtual ubuntu machine running on my os x 10.7 macbook air.
