I would also like to add my support for philinux's application.
He has helped me several times in the past.
I use his guide "Known Lucid Lynx issues/bugs with workarounds" to fix resolution issues every time I re-install (whether it's Lucid Lynx or not).

When Philinux posts in a thread you can take his input to the bank, it is all good and is
a deserving applicant for Ubuntu Membership.
