Disable Copy Paste in Samba Share Folder

    Dear Friends,

We have 10.x ubuntu server with XP clients. We have samba share folders at LAN. Is there any possibility that we can disable copy and paste option for some specific folders, while other data folders remain as usual in our shared data?

    Thanks
    Yameen

You may need to be more specific.

You can change the permissions to not allow changing/writing to folders, ie: paste.

If you disable copy, that would translate to read, then items would not be readable.
Nothing is ever easy, but if it is difficult you must be doing it wrong.

Your question means to me that you are hosting a server with no ideas as to what file permissions and share permissions mean.

    I have a guide, most importantly for you page 3 ( http://woodel.com )

You may want to shut your server off until you know more about file permission, your question scares me :- )

    best of luck

Well the question is probably a business setting, to prevent files from walking off.
