    Exclamation lots of problems

I just installed an update by ubuntu and my gnome shell stopped working, since I was busy I ignored it and continued doing my stuff.
After a while I restarted my computer and when I tried to log in it showed a black screen for a minute and then show my Desktop but Gnome is no longer working.
I open unity and it works but it don't let me open any ubuntu program, neither terminal nor system settings, I can't do anything but open chrome and openoffice...
I try to enter in recovery mode but it doesn't I realized it doesn't even show the ubuntu logo when starting, just when I shut down. Any idea of what the heck is happening?
