    Cisco Linksys e-1500

    Hi!

I'm trying to set up wep/wpa.

    I have a Cisco Linksys e-1500.

I'm on a desktop w/12.10 (Xubuntu) and trying to setup three android tablets and an Ubuntu laptop.

Is there a guide/docs to follow?

I must be having a mental block.

    Thanks!

Are you trying to set it up on the router itself, or on the devices?

WPA2 would be best unless your devices do not support it (and all newer devices do).

The documentation for the router can be found here:
    http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/s.../routers/E1500

Basically you just need to login to the web interface and go to the wireless security tab and set it up, if it isn't set up yet.

As for the Android devices, they should have a wireless networks link in the settings area.

Basically, you are going to, I hope, set up the router to use WPA2 and set a strong password. Then when your computers, tablets. etc. try to log in, they will be asked for the password. They will supply it and connect. Those hackers next door who don't know the strong password won't log in.

CharlesA is right on target, as usual. I'll subscribe and chime in if needed, which I doubt.
