    Unhappy Unity launcher and panel views

    Hi all,

    I'm a newbie. I've installed 12.04 on my desktop PC and the icons do not appear in the launcher or panel by default. The icons will appear in the panel if I hover over them, but I have to find them first. Apps can be started from the launcher, but again, I can't see the icons first.

    Anybody else had this issue?

    Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated.

    Sorry, not right at the moment for the screen captures. Imagine the launcher in it's usual spot, just with no icons.

    bruce6111; Hi ! Welcome to the forum .

    Is it that the launcher is in "hidden mode" in system settings->(personal)->appearance-> behavior ?

    What is the result of "throwing" the mouse pointer HARD against the left edge of the screen? or to the left upper corner ??

    such is unity ==> BDQ

    I had similar issues when I first installed Natty on my old machine. That was only because my graphics card was very old and weak.
    Jane, stop this crazy thing!

    Hi all,

    Thanks for the input. It turned out to be the video card. Thanks again.
