Dell XPS 13 ultrabook compatibility

Hello.

Now that the new Dell XPS 13 ultrabook is out I open this post to discuss about Ubuntu installation & compatibility.
Somebody is planning to buy and install Ubuntu in this nice ultrabook?

It would be nice to make a review about:
- Overall performance
- Peripherals (wifi, ports)
- suspend/hibernate
- Battery life with ubuntu
- media buttons
- boot speed
etc.

I hope that some brave of you dare to buy and test it with ubuntu

I'm planning to buy the dell XPS 13 ultrabook and install ubuntu, but i'm new to Ubuntu and would like to wait until somebody tests it. I don't think it takes long. If you know about anybody testing it or having it installed already tell him/her to share the experience.

By the way, i've tried to find this post in Dell thread and couldn't find it...

I managed to install Xubuntu 11.10 on the base Dell XPS 13 model without any issues that I have found. There are power consumption issues and the battery does not last as long as it should. But as I understand it, a lot of power issues will be resolved in 12.04 due out in a month or two.

battery life is not good. I got only 2-3 hours. is this normal?

i have install the bios update in i5 its ok.

How are you guys installing from the .exe file?

I have installed it before I have install ubuntu. so the OS was win7.
